Take a Ride to Clare's Cycle During Autumn

Today was another beautiful drive to work. The autumn coloured trees and landscape are magnificent. The change of season is really putting on a show. Make it a point to get on your bike and ride out to Clare's Cycle and Sports in Fenwick. Don't just cruise the highway, take the country roads. I live in St. Catharines, about 25 km from work. I cruised up 5th St. Louth and made my way up Effingham Rd. This road winds through the Escarpment's forest of Shorthills.

Short Hills Provincial Park is a provincial park located in the centre of the Niagara Peninsula, bordering the city of St. Catharines and the town of Pelham in the Niagara Region in southern Ontario, Canada. It occupies an area of 1,600 acres. It also borders the new vineyard sub-appellation called the Short Hills Bench. Located on the southern edge of the Niagara Escarpment, the park is a jumble of small but steep hills ("short hills") and valleys created by the last ice age. The effect was only compounded when the Twelve Mile Creek cut through the sedimentary deposits and glacial till.

Watch for the Tin Man. 

There is so much beautiful nature to see while coming from St Catharines to Clare's Cycle and Sports on Hwy #20 in Fenwick. Every season has its pluses but today was probably the most beautiful autumn day I've seen in a long time. As I travel south on Effingham Rd., I go through the hills and valleys admiring the rust, red and yellow of the tree lined street. I pass the maple syrup place and see the trusty tin man looking all shiny and refreshed. Keep your eyes out for him. He's a huge, hand crafted tin man that stands tall along the drive. He's about my half way point to Clare's Cycle. Continue traveling on on Effingham Rd. with its twists, turns, hills and valleys, it's sure to excite. Follow it to Hwy 20 and make a right and Clare's is just down the hill on the right at 799 Hwy 20W. You can zig zag through the area all day long and every hill, valley and turn will leave you loving it.
